Just trying to take in all the goodness of the Blue Mesa lunch buffet on this rainy Wednesday morning… My wife just took our perfect little girl to the bathroom to change her (note to self: maybe not the blue corn tomalleys for the the four month old;), and I am just reflecting on the Lord’s faithfulness in our lives…
I’m not just thankful because of my beautiful wife, my little honey bee Lucy, our amazing church, our family, our friends, little Lilly Everett who was just born, and this crazy awesome corn hash on my plate, I am thankful because of this verse:
“Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life…” (ps 23:6)
There will never,
not even for a second in this life,
Be anything for me but GOODNESS and MERCY!
It will follow me like a shadow all the days of my life!
It is there in the “Blue Mesa” days!
When all is good and I can’t complain…
And His mercy stays…
When the cancer comes in,
When you lose your best friend,
Even when it’s hard to see,
The shadow hovers over me…
Only and forever…
Goodness and mercy!
Sorry… I’m in a cheesy poem mood… But it’s true! If you are in Christ, you will NEVER experience His wrath! NEVER! Isn’t that crazy! We WILL have hard days. Days where doubt sneaks in. Days when we are convinced that God is against us.
But even in those dark days, He is there working ALL things out for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose!
Rest in THAT!
