Shane B’s First Taylor

We are getting close to CD time.
Shane and I are gearing up for the release tour as well as the Christmas run with Phil Wickham and Bethany.
As we have been brainstorming about what kind of pre-release incentive to offer I had a thought.

Let me know what you guys think:

small_picI am wanting to give away Shane B’s first Taylor Guitar. As you can imagine Shane B is concerned. It would basically go like this: if you pre order the new record on Shaneandshane.com we will put your name in a hat and in a live video drawing we would draw a name at 12am nov 3rd revealing the winner.
He or she would then get the guitar the next day via fed ex.

He is not wanting to do it and he needs some encouragement. Let us know if you think think that is a good idea?

    Wonderful idea. There are Korean-American boys all over New Jersey who would probably drool after that guitar. I shall attempt to win it for one of them. Excited for new album.

    Not a good idea… at all! You should never get rid of a guitar! You will find yourself in 15 years like the owner of Papa John’s trying to find his car that he sold in order to keep the business going. You’d be better off buying a new Taylor, signing it and giving it away.

    Why not just give away one of his new Taylor guitars? People still get a great guitar (and he gets to keep his baby). On the other hand, that would be a pretty sweet incentive. ;)

    Then again, it may be time to just move on.

    I say go for it! But I doubt I would say the same thing if I were in B’s shoes, haha.

    Too bad some pre-orders have already gone through musichristian.com (like mine)!

    wow what an idea but i agree u cant deprive a man of his firsts. no matter how beat up it gets my first guitar will still be special for me! but i would kill to win such a thing! will add my name to the pot!

    I think it’s an awesome idea, and will be a huge blessing for someone. I gave away my first guitar to someone who needed it more than I, and I’ve been blessed many times over.

    To be honest… I’ll pre-order with this incentive, and without, I’ll probably just wait until I see it around, or pick it up on iTunes at some point.

    If/when this does go down, I’ll help make it a big deal on Twitter… I work there :)

    How can it not be a good idea? Everybody wins. Except maybe Shane B, cause he has to give his guitar away, but then he gets to go buy a new one, then everybody wins including the music store guy who is on commission and needs to sell stuff. Yeah.

    I think it’s a great idea…granted for Shane B I can see why he would be a little reluctant. How about a compromise and you autograph a new guitar and let Shane B keep his relic?

    Wow! How can you give away your first guitar? Mine was a Sears special (Harmony) that I’ve had to glue back together twice and I still couldn’t give it away. Though, nobody would probably want it.

    WOW…that sounds like a tough…but AWESOME IDEA. I’ve desired a Taylor guitar for some time now…about 5 years or so…but I’ve not been able to afford one. I can imagine Shane B.’s pain an attachment…but if wanted to know it was going to good hands that make music for the glory of God…ahem ahem….haha. Take care guys and I can’t wait for the new CD!

    Yah E. This is like taking the mans first chest hair or something. Painful and sad. There’s got to be some other prize you can give out. Problem is you can’t guarantee the person who gets it will appreciate it or care for it and that is sad. Go purchase one of those wal-mart guitars for sale at the check out isle and have you guys sign it!!

    This is incredible idea. I really need a new guitar and I have always wanted a Taylor, but cannot afford one anytime in the near future. I’m sure there are others out there like me. What a great gift to be able to own and play the same guitar that belonged to my greatest influence as a musician and worship leader. It would truly be a treasure. I’m going to pre-order the CD no matter what and will love it. I really appreciate everything you guys do for the Kingdom and know that God still has a ton in store for your lives and ministry. Keep living it out brothers! God bless!

    the funniest part is they stole that Taylor 310ce pic from MY first blog of MY first taylor (which I bought because of shane anyways), haha!
