Shane B’s First Taylor

guitar

We are getting close to CD time.
Shane and I are gearing up for the release tour as well as the Christmas run with Phil Wickham and Bethany.
As we have been brainstorming about what kind of pre-release incentive to offer I had a thought.

Let me know what you guys think:

small_picI am wanting to give away Shane B’s first Taylor Guitar. As you can imagine Shane B is concerned. It would basically go like this: if you pre order the new record on Shaneandshane.com we will put your name in a hat and in a live video drawing we would draw a name at 12am nov 3rd revealing the winner.
He or she would then get the guitar the next day via fed ex.

He is not wanting to do it and he needs some encouragement. Let us know if you think think that is a good idea?

i would definately go for that…would i be eligible since i already pre-ordered?

  • CraigS

Tough decision. I think it is a great incentive… I would order a second copy from shaneandshane.com (already ordered through musichristian.com) just to be entered. I think you would sell a good number more albums with the guitar giveaway as well – it will generate a lot of hype, I think. The live drawing is also an attention getter and a great promotion for the album. Of course, only if Shane B. is OK with giving it away (no secret giveaways when Shane B. is sleeping!)!

I would die to have that guitar. Not only would it be awesome to have a Taylor guitar, but even more amazing to have Shane B’s guitar. Any guitar owned by Shane B would be incredible. I don’t think I would know what to do if I won it. I don’t know if I would ever play it or if I would put it in a glass case just to look at. Great idea, hope I win!

make it so. if i win, i will videotape myself setting it on fire and smashing it to bits. sike, that would be heartless!

I say go for it. Too bad I already bought the CD from christian music. :(

  • Karin

Where can i go to do this!? I SO want to play on that guitar…please oh please!

  • http://www.cougarsforchrist.com Derik

I don’t see a place to preorder the cd… Great idea though! Is it an acoustic electric or just an acoustic. I don’t think I could put it in a glass case… the thing is meant to be played!!!!

  • Madeline Johnson

    I think that’s a great idea! :)

  • Walter Hayes

I think its great and then I will even give it back to you if you play a free concert at my church! Congrats on the album though guys and thanks for rrleasing it on my 26th birthday! I know that was on purpose.

Wow, that would be amazing, but I might feel kind of guilty and eventually give it back!

  • Craig

My S&H almost costs as much as the CD itself! Seems a little steep…

  • Steven

Sweet deal, but I would give it back to Shane if I won. If you get attached to guitars like most players, you would be sorry to lose it. Unfortunately, I just went to pre-order and the shipping and handling was $9 bucks. Ouch! I’ll wait and grab a copy in the store. Can’t wait to hear the new disk, Gents!! Take care!

  • Joel

I would say as long as you can convince Shane B then I dont think anyone is going to complain. I mean who is going to turn down a taylor. Let along Shane’s first taylor. I would love to play on it. Him and my takamine would get along very well. I would agree with they guy early and say I would give it back for a concert?

I would SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO love to have that guitar. I have been a fan for years met you guys a numerous occasions drove from Tn to FLA to see you for my birthday, drove 4 hours to Chattanooga to see you from Nashville. I was the guy that named that white lion song at Passion 05 at your concert. I cover tons of your songs at every coffee shop gig I do. To play on that guitar would be a dream. I have wanted a Taylor for 5 years now and just can’t afford one. Wow, what a dream to win THAT guitar!

  • Scott

I would recommend that you don’t do it. I have followed your music since Shane and Caleb and God called me to music ministry that same year. I imagine that if you offer it as an incentive (you two don’t need an incentive) it in a way makes the guitar or you two a sort of idol. You two have been greatly blessed by God who can take it away at any time. Btw you could just give the guitar to a family member or a youth from your church which makes it a little more personal. Just a thought. 8^) SJ from VA

i’ve just started to listen to you guys and i want to say keep it up! this sounds awesome (and the drawing falls right on my birthday :D ); unfortunately, im out of moolata…:( supporting you guys in spirit and God bless you guys and your talents!

  • Sean

Do it! Do it! Man, if I won I would so put that guitar right on eBay!

shane b, i can see how this could be such a huge decision for you. i can’t imagine giving away my taylor. however, if you have other taylors, then this might not be as bad. but its like losing your first love. i feel for you. i’m game either way you decide.

  • Charlie DOG!

I wish it were Shane’s first Martin guitar. I definitely think that he would not go for that. I have played it, and it is so sweet! I would not send back this Taylor either if it came to my door… except for an autograph. Good luck Shane fans!
