Just bought a new house and I once again have a place to lay my head. I love it, and I hate it. If you have ever moved you must know what i am talking about. I think the older you get the more stuff you accumulate. I have things that should have been tossed years ago. Pray that I will not just stuff, “STUFF” in a closet, but that I will throw things away!!! Why is that so hard? I have clothes that would not fit me if I tried, oh wait, i did try and it was not pretty. Its time to donate some goods!!!! So to all the movers out there tell me there is hope, a light at the end of this cardboard tunnel. I hope to see you all on the other side.

go with those huge tupperware tubs….at least all your junk can be color coordinated when it’s piled up in the spare rooms, garage, etc. :)

I totally agree with Josh…and the stuff that you no longer use can be given away. A great idea would be to post on Craigs’ List or your local Freecycle group and see if there are any church youth groups doing a garage sale to raise money for camps or other summer activities. They’d appreciate the donation and you’d know that you’re helping further the Gospel (even if it is by giving away your old stuff).

In the next few weeks, my group of friends is doing a garage sale. My daughters (ages 4 and 6) have gathered our stuff to put in, and we’re using the proceeds to buy art supplies to send to a Manna Feeding Center in Mongolia. Our friends started it and it’ll be a great way for my kids to learn how to share with God’s people :)

Either way, good luck! Just make sure Olive isn’t around if you’re gonna be getting rid of some of her stuff, that makes a little girl very sad!

The more you give to the poor and needy, the less you’ll have ;)

Here’s what we do in our house…
For every 1 thing we get, we get rid of 2 things.
Eventually, you have nothing, and realize you never needed any of it to begin with.

Go to an apartment complex in a poor neighborhood and dump unwanted furniture or anything still useful beside a dumpster. It will be gone before you drive away. Somebody will need it.

All good suggestions!!! I love it.
